Attention all 8th graders, you guys have done a great job getting your slides done for the slideshow, but there are a few of you still need to complete that so try to find some time to get that done ASAP. The next step for everyone though is to vote for your 8th grade teacher superlatives. Like who is the funniest teacher, who is the most likely to be roasted by the students, who is the most sarcastic, or who is the most likely to hand out candy among many others? Head over to the 8th grade slideshow Schoology page to cast your votes by next Friday! If you have any questions stop by and see Dr. Sowers or Mr. Polinka.

Next week is Mini-THON. As always, it will be Mini-THON Spirit Week. Here are the days that the Leadership Team has planned.
Monday - Lazy Day
Feeling lazy on Mondays? So, do we! But, we can never be lazy in our pursuit to find a cure!
Tuesday – Super Hero Day
Pick a hero: could be DC or Marvel, but what about everyday super heroes? You can be a hero to a child with cancer.
Wednesday- BEACH DAY
The sun is out; the waves are calling. Summer is so close, but first, let’s raise a lot of money for Four Diamonds!
Thursday - NEON VS CAMO DAY
Whether you want to stand out or blend in, we all agree together we can make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer.
Friday – MINI-THON DAY
Friday is the day! The day we all come together. Wear what you will wear to Mini-THON.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Have you been gathering up your change? You can’t forget about Delay Day. On that day, bring in all of the change you have. At the start of any class, bring that change forward. Your teacher cannot start class until ALL of the change is counted. Bring in enough change and class may never start! Watching teachers count change for 40 minutes is a great way to pass the time.
6th and 8th grades – your Delay Day will be Friday, the day of Mini-THON.
7th grade – with many teachers out on Friday, you will have your Delay Day on Wednesday.
Shake out those piggy banks; head to the real bank; load up with enough change to make the day go by penny by penny, quarter by quarter, nickel by…..well, you get the drill.

Attention all Student Council Reps:
This is a last minute change of plans: Today you will be missing period 8. Please report to the cafeteria at the start of the period 8.
Again, all Reps should report to the cafeteria at 1:05 today.
Thank you

It's time for Fun Fact Friday!
Did you know that while there are approximately 430 national park sites across America, only 63 bear the “National Park” title?
Also, around 60% of our native freshwater fish species live in rivers, lakes, and other water bodies throughout the parks. Do you see why it is so important to prevent water pollution?
Finally, Yellowstone National Park, our oldest national park, is also the world’s FIRST national park, established in 1872.
It’s been a great week focusing on America’s national parks and the many wonders they give to our civilization.
Thanks again to our fabulous 7th grade SIP student who has shared all of this week's National Park contributions!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Have a great day and please rise for a moment of silence followed by the playing of the national anthem and the pledge of allegiance.
